Curriculum

A Lifetime Love of Learning

We aim to provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum in order to achieve our vision and develop an understanding of our core values:

Our Vision:

At Hart Plain Junior School we foster a lifetime love of learning, where children acquire the knowledge, skills, resilience and heart to pursue and achieve their individual dreams.

Our Core Values:

Integrity - We do the right thing and make responsible choices even when it is difficult

Happiness - We know what makes us happier and how to make our community a better place for all

Aspiration - We strive to succeed and to be the very best we can in order to achieve our goals

Respect - We treat others as we would like them to treat us and celebrate our differences

Courage - We have the bravery to tackle the challenges of life and face them head on

Each year group has their own page dedicated to the curriculum covered within the academic year.

Trips and experiences play a crucial role in broadening pupils' knowledge and understanding at Key Stage 2 by providing them with real-world contexts that enhance their learning. Below is a list of our current planned activities for this academic year.

At Hart Plain Junior we recognise the importance of all aspects of safeguarding within the teaching and experiences we offer. A copy of our safeguarding curriculum is also located below.

Our music development plan is also available to view below.

Parents in England have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of Religious Education (RE) at Key Stage 2. This applies to all types of schools, including academies and free schools. Parents don’t need to give a reason, and the school must respect their decision. While the school must supervise the child during RE lessons, it doesn’t have to provide extra teaching or activities during that time.

Remote education delivery, if required, would be in line with the government guidance which is located here. In order to deliver this, we would use a combination of Purple Mash and Oak National Academy work. Details would be communicated via Arbor to all parents and carers.

If you require any further information regarding the school curriculum, please email the school office.
