The Curriculum at Hart Plain Junior School
At Hart Plain we aim to provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum that will equip pupils with the skills and knowledge they need to progress in life. The teaching of reading, writing and mathematics is the core purpose of our curriculum.
At Hart Plain we follow the National Curriculum. The Government introduced a new National Curriculum which came into force from September 2014.
Our curriculum has been developed to ensure that the National Curriculum programmes of study are covered and taught in a systematic, themed, and exciting context, which is relevant to children. Children will learn the English and Maths skills needed for life and which are necessary to progress in their education. They will be encouraged to be curious and use thinking skills to innovate, be creative and problem solve and all of the National Curriculum subjects will be covered throughout the year through the teaching of milestone themed units.
