We can be flexible around days worked: either non-class based three/four days a week or five days a week with a teaching commitment.

Or will have made good progress towards completion of the qualification National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENCOs. However, consideration will be given to strong candidates wishing to commence studies in this area – we will fully support attendance and completion of the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENCOs.
Hart Plain Junior School serves a diverse community, and we are proud of our inclusive ethos. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those with additional needs, make strong progress both academically and personally.
We are known for our strong culture of support, care and teamwork. We believe that children achieve their best when they feel safe, valued and understood—and the same is true for our staff. Our team of learning support assistants are skilled in what they do, constantly going over and above for the benefit of our pupils. You will lead our dedicated team of support staff and work collaboratively with teachers, external agencies and families to ensure that provision is carefully tailored and impactful.
We are proud to be a school that adopts the Empowerment Approach and work closely with the co-author of “Curious not Furious” and director of Changing Chances, Kit Messenger. In September 2026 we are beginning an exciting journey towards becoming an accredited school. The inclusion lead role would be integral to this journey.
You will:
- Be able to analyse data and use this information to think strategically;
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with children, staff, parents and external agencies;
- Be flexible, adaptable and resilient, able to organise workload efficiently and competently yet still willing to contribute to the wider life of the school;
- Have the ability to liaise with class teachers and learning support assistants in implementing and evidencing impact of learning interventions;
- Administer screening tests and identify appropriate interventions and monitoring their impact;
