Family Support
We understand that family life can sometimes feel challenging, and everyone needs a little extra support from time to time. At our setting, we are committed to working in partnership with families to ensure every child and their caregivers feel supported, valued, and listened to.
Supporting Our Families
We are proud to offer dedicated support for families through our Family Support Worker, Sarah Atkins. Sarah works closely with parents and carers to provide practical help, guidance, and a listening ear.
Sarah’s role includes (but is not limited to):
- Acting as a link between home and school, including carrying out home visits
- Supporting children and families to improve school attendance and reduce absences
- Talking with and supporting children in school, helping them to feel positive about their future
Support is available in a friendly, confidential, and non-judgemental way, tailored to meet the needs of each family.
Each Thursday, we hold a coffee morning in the Family Support Hub where parents and carers from both the Infants and Juniors are welcome to attend.
How We Can Help
Sarah can support families in a range of ways, including:
- Emotional support – someone to talk to when things feel overwhelming
- Parenting advice and guidance
- Behaviour and routine support at home
- Signposting to local services and specialist support
- Help completing forms or accessing services
- Support during times of change or crisis
Whether you have a specific concern or just need a chat, we are here for you.
Household Support Fund
We are pleased to have received funding from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Household Support Fund, which allows us to provide additional assistance to families who may be experiencing financial difficulties.
Through this funding, we may be able to offer support such as:
- Help with essential household items
- Support with food costs
- Assistance during particularly challenging times
If you feel this could benefit your family, please speak to us in confidence.
