The scheme was set up in this school following a training session and visit to another school where a similar scheme operates. Year 6 pupils fill in an application form, if they wish to be considered as Lunch leaders. All pupils selected undertake several training sessions, and are then given responsibility for organising set activities on set days,
Currently the activities offered are football, rounders, cricket, hockey, netball, dance, karaoke, art, cheerleaders, board games and two trolleys with bats, shuttlecocks, swing ball, hoopla, skipping ropes, french skipping, jacks, cats cradle etc. These activities are enjoyed by a wide range of pupils and the Year 6 pupils organising the activities have fun and gain skills in citizenship and responsibility.
