Hart Plain Junior School

Maths Olympiad at Crookhorn College of Technology February 2012

On Friday 3rd February 2012, a group of Gifted and Talented Mathematicians from Hart Plain took part in the Crookhorn Annual Mathematics Olympiad at Crookhorn College of Technology.
The event is an annual competition to promote mathematics in a fun and stimulating way for bright mathematicians.
The children selected to attend this event were, Sophie H and Sameul P from Year 4 and Sarah F, Alex B and Ben A from Year 5.

The children worked superbly as a team and were skillful at dividing the tasks set for them in an effective manner. The aduts accompanying the children felt very proud of their maturity and ability to manage with the challenges set.
The children finished in second place out of the ten schools attending. Hart Plain currently hold the record of the most wins at this event and very nearly managed to add to that record this year. They would like to congratulate Hulburt Junior School for their first ever win at this event.
