Hart Plain Junior School

New Year 3 Intake - 2021

Welcome to HPJS!

If your child is currently in Year 2 and you are you thinking of applying to Hart Plain Junior School for Year 3 in September 2021, this is the place to find out all the information you need. Usually we would offer school tours and opportunities to look around our school site and meet the wonderful children and staff in our school but we are unable to do that at present.

Please take some time to browse our website and see what we have to offer here at HPJS. We are very proud of our school and our community and we hope that you will join us in 2021!

If you have any questions at all, please email us at

If your child is currently attending Hart Plain Infant School, they should receive some information in school.

A Virtual Tour

Here is a virtual tour of our school building to give you an idea of our building and our amazing grounds.

What do we offer at HPJS?

  • Skilled teachers and creative children who all demonstrate our core values of Respect, Courage, Aspiration, Integrity and, of course, Happiness.
  • Extensive grounds which we use to extend and inspire learning
  • Clear communication using our parent app Marvellous Me and every day opportunities to receive praise and find out how your child has been marvellous
  • An enthusiastic and clear focus on reading. Our children (and staff!) love reading and it is infectious!

Please take a moment to review our Good Ofsted report from February 2020 which highlights the strengths of our school. Here are a few snippets...

'Pupils are confident, happy learners who express their opinions readily.'

'Pupils feel safe because they know the adults care for them.'

'The school’s culture is such where pupils respect each other, and bullying is rare.'

'The school is a community of readers.'

'Pupils bubble with interest and excitement in their lessons.'

'Parents and carers told us that they really value the supportive relationships that staff have with pupils with SEND and their families.'

'Leaders have prioritised support for the mental well-being of their pupils.'
